Movies for Valentine’s Day

  • Sleepless in Seattle:  Matchmaking by phone in radio show.  Starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan
  • Notting Hill:  Love and celebrity in Britain.  Starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts.
  • Sense and Sensibility:  Jane Austen’s book brought to life.  Starring Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Kate Winslet and Alan Rickman.
  • While You Were Sleeping:  Mistaken identity, comas and love.  Starring Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman.
  • Moulin Rouge:  Tragic, star-crossed love the 19th century Paris, set to modern music.  Starring Ewan McGreggor and Nicole Kidman.
  • A Walk in the Clouds:  A WWII vet finds love in a California vineyard.  Starring Keanu Reeves and Aitana Sánchez-Gijón. 
  • Just Like Heaven:  A man moves into a new apartment to find the spiritual remnant of the previous tenant has stuck around.  Romance ensues.  Starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo.
  • Ladyhawke:  Medieval love affairs and curses.  Starring Mathew Broderick, Michelle Pfeiffer and Rutger Hauer.
  • Simply Irresistible:  Romance blooms between a chef and a businessman, thanks to a magic crab.  Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sean Patrick Flanery
  • Addicted to Love:  Two people try to win back their former loves through devious means.  Starring Mathew Broderick and Meg Ryan
  • Stranger Than Fiction:  A real person blends into a writer’s character and along the way finds romance.  Starring Will Ferrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman.
